Communities in Bloom Committee

Melfort is part of a wonderful group called Communities in Bloom, which is a non-profit Canadian organization that fosters civic pride, beautification projects and environmental responsibility.

There are eight key areas including floral displays, environmental awareness, community involvement, tidiness, heritage preservation, landscaped areas, urban forestry and turf or groundcover areas that the program focuses on.  Adjudicators then judge the community during the summer. 

A community can follow a competitive route where they are judged against other communities or do the non-competitive route where judges simply give a critique of work that has been done.
